Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, chaired the first session of the Education and Student Affairs Council for the academic year 2023/2024, which was held in the meeting room of the Republic Building in the university city, students, in the presence of the deputies of the university’s faculties for education and student affairs.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Mohamed Diaa thanked Prof. Ghada Farouk Hassan - Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, for her fruitful efforts in carrying out the work of the University President during the transitional period, His Excellency also thanked Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini - former university president, for his fruitful efforts in developing the university.
His Excellency also thanked Prof. Abdel Fattah Muhammad Fathi Saoud - former Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, for his fruitful efforts in developing the sector, praising the efforts made by the university’s previous leadership, stressing that completing these achievements is one of the most important priorities for the coming period.
His Excellency also congratulated the newly appointed deputies on assuming the position of deputies of faculties for education and student affairs.
A brief presentation was given about the university’s admission work and its faculties to date, international partnerships, and university scholarships, in addition to the time map for the academic year, completing the automation of issuing academic degree-granting decisions through the UMS system. Prof. Mohamed Diaa confirmed the importance of activating university students’ e-mail for ease of communication between the students and the faculty.
The Council also reviewed the teaching and learning strategy, university policies, and the measurement and evaluation guide.
The Council also reviewed that the Faculty of Agriculture won first place in the AUC Hackathon Competition through the participation of faculty students in the activities of Entrepreneurship Week at the American University.
