Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and under the supervision of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, the Faculty of Arts hosted Prof. Alaa Abdel Halim, Director of the Scholarships Office. The awards were held at the university, in the presence of a number of faculty staff and teaching assistants.
Prof. Hatem Rabie stressed the importance of submitting the largest number of faculty staff to obtain these awards and the role of this in contributing to the faculty obtaining the highest international rankings. He also stressed that Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, directed to increase the rates of digital transformation mechanisms, in communicating with faculty staff, to notify them of developments in the services provided by the university’s Office of Scholarships and Awards and that it is in the process of developing a plan to develop the graduate studies and research sector in accordance with the vision and mission of the faculty to obtain educational leadership and international, regional and Arab classification, and to achieve sustainable excellence.
For his part, Prof. Alaa Abdel Halim, Director of the Scholarships and Awards Office, praised the remarkable turnout from the faculty staff of the Faculty of Arts, as it is one of the faculties with the most participation through the faculty staff and teaching assistants.
He also provided a detailed explanation of the application and follow-up procedures for applicants from faculty staff in university faculties for state awards from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, as well as university awards at all levels at Ain Shams University.
Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim reviewed information about the center and an overview of the purpose of its establishment, its vision and mission, and the efforts made by the Awards Office to follow up on the scholars and pioneers nominated and award recipients.
He stressed that this symposium aims to follow up and provide technical support to all of the faculty’s cultural relations department in the field of awards, follow up on performance, and provide technical support to all faculty staff wishing to apply for awards, in addition to holding periodic meetings and interviews to find out the most important developments and discuss and overcome all obstacles.
He also stressed that the university is keen to support and enhance the academic and technical competencies of its faculty staff, with the aim of enhancing their standing and motivating them to participate effectively in local and national competitions and awards. This effort aimed at enhancing academic excellence and innovation comes within the framework of the university’s strategy to enhance its global classification and leadership in the field of higher education through its cadres at all levels.
