The Zaffran Museum at Ain Shams University received a delegation from the British University of Exeter, where they were received and welcomed by Dr. Walaa Al-Din Badawi, Director of the Museum, and the Trustees of the Museum: Mr. Hossam Mohamed, Mrs. Abeer Omar and the museum’s work team, in the presence of Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of the International Students and Mobility Office, Prof. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center for Development Affairs.
During their tour of the museum, the delegation listened to a detailed explanation of the museum’s exhibits in English, which monitor ancient Egyptian history in its various historical ages from ancient Egyptian times until the modern age, and some of the university’s holdings represented by a collection of papyrus and currency from the Greek, Roman and Islamic ages, as well as heritage manuscripts.
The most prominent of which are funerary scenes from the burial chamber of King Tutankhamun, they also praised the museum’s hall of technology and museum heritage.
The members of the delegation praised the valuable archaeological exhibits and expressed their admiration for the unique diverse collection in the museum at the conclusion of their tour of the museum.
