The Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University received a simulated visit from the University's Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center to review the faculty's programs in preparation for applying for program accreditation.

The visit activities were held for 3 days from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 December 2023, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Rasha Khafaji, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, under the supervision of Dr. Howaida Abdel Hamid, Director of the Faculty’s Performance Evaluation and Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Nisreen Amin, Deputy Director of the Unit.

The visit, carried out by a team of technical support experts specialized in the field of education quality and accreditation, aimed to evaluate the performance of the college’s programs and ensure their readiness to apply for accreditation, which are: (Bachelor of English Language and Literature on the credit hour system - Bachelor of French Language and Literature on the credit hour system - Bachelor of Tourism Guidance - Bachelor Tourist Guidance, French Language Division).

The visit program included: a protocol meeting with Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and the Vice Deans, and meetings with faculty staff and teaching assistants. The visiting team also met with members of the administrative staff, students, graduates, as well as community parties.

The visit team met with the college’s Performance Evaluation and Quality Assurance Unit team, and faculty leaders, and the team also inspected several places, including the faculty library, study halls, auditoriums, the Vision Center, Differently-Abled Unit, the International Students unit, the Quality unit, the Measurement and Evaluation unit, and the question bank laboratory. , Digital Services Unit, E-Learning Unit, Student Affairs Department, Graduate Affairs Department, Medical Center, Library, Teaching Halls, Controls, and Language Laboratories.

The visiting team included: Prof. Ahmed Kamal Mansour Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Delta University of Science and Technology, “Team Leader” and Prof. Osama Muhammad Nabil, Professor and Head of the French Language Department, at the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Al-Azhar University, Prof. Naglaa Mohamed Farghaly, Professor of French Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts, at Cairo University, Prof. Tamer Magdy Issa, Professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, at the Department of Tourism Guidance, at Fayoum University, and Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning, Prof. Asst. Dr. Ismail Abdel-Ghani Ahmed, Assistant Professor of English Literature, at the Department of English Language, at the Faculty of Arts, Sohag University, Prof. Asst. Dr. Sahar Mohamed Badawi is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Political Science at the British University in Egypt.
