The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, organized a free workshop entitled: “The Perfect Research Writing in the Arabic Language,” under the patronage of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and under the supervision of Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, prepared and presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hamid, a lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature. The motivation behind holding this workshop is to raise the level of research writing in the Arabic language in the dissertations that researchers complete and the research papers that faculty members present.
The workshop targeted researchers at the faculty and outside it, especially the teaching assistants.
The workshop aimed to train researchers to easily extract grammatical errors in the texts they write, shed light on how to avoid common linguistic errors, as well as training to avoid using incorrect methods in research writing: brief, verbose, ambiguous, and inaccurate, and finally learn how to Correct use of Arabic punctuation marks.
The workshop lasted four hours, divided into two periods of two hours each, separated by a half-hour break.
At the end of the workshop, a questionnaire was distributed to evaluate the quality of the scientific material and the way it was presented.
