Under the patronage of Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting President of Ain Shams University, The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University is organizing a comprehensive development convoy in the Ahalina neighborhood (1), on Tuesday, the 26th of this September.
The convoy includes a number of diverse activities coordinated by Prof. Jihan Rajab, Advisor to the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Hala Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development and General Supervision, Mr. Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community Affairs and Environmental Development.
The university's faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Mass Communication, and the adult education center participate in the convoy.
The convoy includes various clinics, including an internal clinic - a women's clinic - a children's clinic - a nose and ear clinic - an orthopedic clinic - a dental clinic, a skin clinic - an ophthalmology clinic - a surgery clinic - an early detection of breast tumors clinic, measuring blood pressure and blood sugar, and raising awareness about diabetes and blood pressure, in addition to a pharmacy to dispense medications for free under the supervision of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The activities of the convoy also include a number of awareness seminars, namely: “Increasing community awareness about reproductive health, family planning, breast examination, awareness about self-examination, and increasing awareness about the dangers of addiction and its impact on the individual, family, and society.”, awareness seminars for mothers on protecting their children from common accidents and dealing with them when they occur, “Providing the necessary first aid, breastfeeding and its importance, and proper nutrition.” It is presented by specialized professors from the Faculty of Nursing.
Rumors, their definition, types, danger, and how to confront them, and awareness seminars entitled “My Country is a Secretariat to raise awareness of the challenges facing society in light of global crises,” and awareness about “combat violence against women” and a family without violence presented by the National Council for Women, Cairo branch.
Immediate exams for those wishing to be freed from illiteracy will also be held through the convoy under the supervision of the General Authority for Adult Education in cooperation with the University’s Adult Education Center.
The convoy includes special activities for children, including: “A puppet theater show - puppet making workshops - a plastic arts workshop - a drawing workshop with children to make a mural in acrylic colors - a workshop for the doll of the Prophet’s birthday - face painting,” implemented by the General Administration of Children’s Culture, the cultural project for the new safe areas - General Authority for Cultural Palaces.
In addition to the axis of literacy and adult education, which includes immediate exams for those freed from illiteracy under the supervision of the General Authority for Adult Education and the Adult Education Center at Ain Shams University.
The convoy's activities also include distributing school bags and tools to 200 orphan children under the supervision of the Misr Al Khair Foundation.
