Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, participated in the first meeting of the Supreme Accreditation Committee held at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities, in which Prof. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, opened the work of the Supreme Committee for Accreditation of the National Center for Training and Leadership Preparation of the Supreme Council of Universities, at the headquarters of the Council Secretariat, which is responsible for interviewing applicants for a scholarship (100 trainers) accredited by the National Center for Training and Leadership Development of the Supreme Council of Universities, which aims to adopt the evaluation criteria set by the Training Advisory Committee to select the best-qualified individuals to grant them accredited certificates to practice the training profession. This aims to improve the training system and contribute to raising its quality in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
This committee was formed, headed by Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawi - President of Benha University, Dr. Ashour Omari - Director of the Center and Secretary of the Committee, and the membership of Prof. Mona Hagras - Assistant Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities. The Vice Presidents of Egyptian Universities, in addition to members of the Committee’s Technical Secretariat, also participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed some important topics, most notably the following:
• Discussing the mechanism for accrediting trainers (licence to practice the profession)
• How to adopt the criteria for evaluating trainers
• Discussing trainers’ accreditation levels and advancement requirements
• Approving the areas of trainer accreditation
• Approval of the trainer file evaluation form
• Discussing the procedures for obtaining trainer accreditation (a license to practice the training profession)
• Approval of the Code of Ethics for practicing the training profession for certified trainers
