Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, under the supervision of Prof. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, on behalf of Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of the University, distributed the awards of the Self-Sufficiency Music and Choral Festival for the academic year 2023-2024, which was coordinated by Mr. Tariq Ahmed, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.
Its competitions were held on the stage of the Faculty of Girls in the period from 12/13/2023 to 12/24/2023 with the participation of 8 colleges with their student bands for playing and singing. Other faculties also participated with students in the field of solo singing. The participating faculties were the Faculty of Science, Computer and Information Sciences, Nursing, Law, Arts, Alsun, and Pharmacy. Education, Girls, Engineering, and Business.
The jury was composed of professors specialized in singing and music from the Higher Institute of Arab Music, and they are:
Prof. Moataz Metwally, Professor of Music Composition and Theories – at the Higher Institute of Arab Music.
Dr. Ashraf Ezzat, Professor of Oud, Department of Instruments - at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music.
Dr. Najwa Ibrahim Mamdouh, Professor of Western Singing - at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music.
The result was as follows: Certificates of Excellence were awarded to students: Student Shaima Shaaban Muhammad at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, who was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Instrumentation, and student Ahmed Walid Al-Sayed at the Faculty of Business, who was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Playing.
Regarding the results of individual singing in faculties that do not participate in choral groups, the third place was won by the student Nada Al-Jundi Da’i Al-Insaf at the Faculty of Science. The second place was also taken by the student Habiba Khaled Massad at the Faculty of Nursing, while the first place was won by the student Muhammad Abdel-Rouuf Ahmed at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences.
Regarding the results of the group and solo competition:
Firstly, the field of solo playing
The third place was won by the student Noha Ashraf Helmy at the Faculty of Business, the second place was won by the student Ziad Assem at the Faculty of Engineering, while the first place was won by the student Abdullah Muhammad Montaser, a student at the Faculty of Engineering.
Secondly, the field of training and leadership
The second place was won by the student Muhammad Al-Saeed Ibrahim at the Faculty of Engineering, and the first place was won by the student Marwan Mamdouh Sabry at the Faculty of Business.
Thirdly, the field of group playing
The Faculty of Business won second place and the Faculty of Engineering won first place.
Field of group and individual singing competition
- Solo singing (Male Students), in which the third place was won by the student Muhammad Ahmed Ismail at the Faculty of Law, the second place was won by the student Mustafa Ahmed Naeem at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the first place was won by the student Adham Amr Abdel Rahman at the Faculty of Law.
- Solo singing (Female): The third place duplicate was won by the student Marvi Magdy Nasri at the Faculty of Law, and the third place was won by the student Farah Hamdi Muhammad at the Faculty of Pharmacy, while the second place was won by the student Aya Jamal Jaber at the Faculty of Girls, and the first place was won by the student Nancy Ali at the Faculty of Arts.
- Training and leadership: The third place was won by the student Mazen Jamal Helmy at the Faculty of Law, the second place was won by the student Naira Walid Ali at the Faculty of Girls, while the first place was won by the student Israa Muhammad Abdel Hadi at the Faculty of Al-Alsun.
The Faculty of Pharmacy won third place in group singing, the College of Law won second place, and the Faculty of Al-Alsun won first place.
