The Scientific Nursing Day was held at Ain Shams University Hospitals, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospitals, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, organized by the Central Administration of Nursing, headed by Dr. Manal Abdel Salam, Director of the Central Administration for Nursing.
Prof. Tariq Youssef praised during his speech about the success of the level of nursing performance during the recent field tour of the accreditation and health oversight delegation and the delegation’s admiration for the level of nursing, pointing out that improving and developing the work environment significantly improves nursing performance on the ground.
His Excellency also stressed that the Scientific Day for Nursing is a special matter that seeks to improve the performance of employees, noting that all scientific activities always provide effectiveness in improving the service provided to the patient. His Excellency directed that such a day be implemented for all hospitals, each in their specialty. Stressing that the patient is always the priority and that improving the performance of nursing staff increases the efficiency of the service provided to the patient.
Dr. Manal Abdel Salam confirmed that the scientific day renews nursing information among nursing members and acquires everything new in nursing science in terms of nursing care, to provide nursing service to patients at Ain Shams University Hospitals at a high level of efficiency and quality.
She added that she is proud of the nursing success index while measuring this indicator from quality management, and she also hopes to increase giving to patients.
She also called for the necessity of holding training workshops on how to deal with patients and their families to improve their communication skills.
The activities of the scientific day included delivering 8 important “scientific lectures” on nursing care, with the aim of continuous training and development, as well as reviewing the latest information and data on nursing care to improve the level of nursing service provided to patients at Ain Shams University Hospitals, in the presence of members of the nursing staff working at Ain Shams University Hospitals.
