The advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank on an exploration tour to the Oncology Hospital at Ain Shams University Hospitals

Within the framework of fruitful cooperation between Ain Shams University Hospitals and the Central Bank of Egypt, and under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, received Mrs. Ghada Tawfek, “Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank for Social Responsibility.”

This came in the presence of Prof. Tarek Youssef, “Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals”, Prof. Amr Shafik, Director of the Oncology Hospital, and Prof. Lobna Ezz El-Arab, Head of the Oncology Department.

   
   

This was followed by an exploration tour of the support provided by the Central Bank of Egypt and the Union of Egyptian Banks to support health facilities in Egypt, which aims to support the Egyptian patient and develop the health and medical service in Egypt so that it matches international health levels and standards.

The tour included development work, which will include the development of both the current buildings and also the construction of the third building to be a complex of oncology hospitals for Ain Shams University at the latest and advanced medical levels, to be able to accommodate the increasing numbers of oncology patients in Egypt who are visiting the hospital, so that the oncology patient receives his treatment services in a proportional manner, and so that Ain Shams University Hospitals can play its pioneering and important role in supporting the health system in Egypt, The tour also included visiting the projects being built within the Ain Shams University Medical City projects, such as the Model Emergency Hospital and the Children's Surgical Hospital.

   
   

It is worth noting that the oncology hospital is visited by more than “100,000 patients annually,” and provides radiation therapy sessions for more than “15,000 sessions annually,” in addition to conducting chemotherapy sessions for more than “15,000 sessions annually and treating tumor patients with radioactive iodine and providing internal radiation therapy, which is a distinguished service that is rarely found specifically in Egypt, using the latest advanced methods.
