The Faculty of Law Council held its regular meeting for the month of January under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, headed by Prof. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of the Vice-Deans and Council members.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Muhammad Safi, Dean of the Faculty, stressed on some matters related to postgraduate studies, the current January exams, and the need to take the necessary measures to announce the results without delay at the beginning of next March.
Then the Dean of the Faculty briefed the Council members on the most important events that took place at the Faculty during the Council’s two meetings, including holding a ceremony honoring academically outstanding students, students participating in student activities who received awards, exemplary and distinguished employees, and researchers and students who received Prof. Hamdi Abdel Rahman’s award for the best doctoral thesis. Prof. Jamil Abdel Baqi’s award for the first student in the postgraduate diplomas, Prof. Ahmed Qismat Al-Jeddawi’s award for the first student in the French division, Prof. Ahmed Sobhi Al-Attar’s award for the first student in the English division, and Prof. Mahmoud Lotfy’s award for the first student in the Arabic division.
Financial prizes were also given to the four winners in the arbitration research competition, which was organized by the Arbitration Center Faculty of Law, in cooperation with the Kemet Center for Arbitration, and was ruled by a specialized scientific committee. A specialized workshop was also organized for faculty students to introduce how they performed their societal commitment related to eradicating the illiteracy of several students. This was in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, the Director of the University’s Adult Education Center, and the Director of the Faculty’s Literacy Eradication Unit, where the students were introduced to how to obtain students, the available teaching places, and the benefits that the University offers to the student, and the Council was informed of the start of the first semester exams for the three subjects, and the Faculty takes many measures to combat the phenomenon of cheating, and to ensure that exams are conducted regularly, as well as holding many extracurricular student activities, such as organizing sports competitions in football, artistic competitions, and a mock trial competition.
The Council also discussed other issues related to student affairs, graduate studies and research, and community service.
