The second meeting of the Greater Cairo Region Universities Alliance

Cairo University hosted the second meeting of the Greater Cairo Region Universities Alliance, which includes the universities of “Cairo, Ain Shams, Helwan, Al-Azhar and Banha”, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, Vice President of Cairo University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Walid Muhammad Al-Sarouji, Vice President of Helwan University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Prof. Samir Hafez, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, replacing the Vice President of Al-Azhar University.

During the meeting, the technical office of the Alliance of Universities in the Greater Cairo Region was formed, in addition to preparing a cooperation protocol aimed at creating a continuous and sustainable partnership to confront national issues of concern to the Greater Cairo Region.

The members of the Greater Cairo Universities Alliance stressed the importance of signing cooperation protocols with industrial bodies and clusters at the level of Greater Cairo (October 6 - Obour - May 15) and strengthening cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Industries and inviting representatives from the Federation of Industries and the Ministry of Social Solidarity to attend the meeting. Innovative ideas for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and civilizational development.

During the meeting, coordination took place between the universities of the Greater Cairo region to equip and prepare comprehensive development convoys in the areas most in need, in coordination with the Hayat Karima Foundation.

In addition to organizing a unified competition among the coalition universities on alternative energy sources, organizing seminars and awareness campaigns on the sidelines of the World Environment Day celebration, and discussing the topics raised for community development within the “Waei” initiative.
