Within the framework of the pioneering role of Ain Shams University in supporting science platforms and promoting culture and knowledge in society, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the university’s encouragement to attend the book fair comes as a step towards promoting cultural communication and supporting cultural sectors in society, with the encouragement of the Faculty of Education administration through Prof. Safaa Shehata, Acting Dean of the Faculty, a team from the community service and environmental development sector at the faculty, headed by Prof. Alaa El-Din Abdel Halim Farag, the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of many faculty staff and students at the faculty, visited the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair in its 55th session for the year 2024 on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
It Is worth noting that the book fair in its session this year, under the slogan “We create knowledge, we preserve the word,” includes the participation of 1,200 publishers, from the continents of the world, an increase of 153 publishers over the last session, and the number of participating countries reaches 70 countries of different nationalities, and the Kingdom of Norway is the guest of honor. The Egyptologist, Dr. Salim Hassan, was chosen to be the character of the exhibition, and the pioneer of children’s literature, Yacoub Al-Sharouni, was chosen to be the character of the children’s exhibition.
As part of efforts to enhance community communication, the Community Service Sector team at the Faculty of Education made multiple visits to different places at the International Book Fair, which was held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
