The activities of the nineteenth General Assembly meeting of the Scientific Association of Faculties of Arts of the Association of Arab Universities were concluded, which was hosted by the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University in the period from January 30 - 31, 2024 under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, hosted by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty.
Prof. Muhammad Al-Anqara, Secretary-General of the Association, and all the attending members of the Association, presented thanks to the faculty administration, headed by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, and her honorable person, for the good reception and hospitality. They also thanked faculty deputies, faculty staff, and everyone who contributed to the success of the meeting.
This meeting concluded with a number of proposals and recommendations:
First: Activating the role of the Journal of the Association of Arab Universities, which is issued by the Association, by attracting a larger number of researchers to referee their research in the journal, which contributes to increasing the numbers as well as suggesting an increase in the number of publications.
Second: Searching for new ways to increase the marketing of the Journal.
Third: Renewing the invitation to faculty staff in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities to publish in the journal.
Fourth: Concluding a joint cooperation protocol and a scientific alliance between Arab universities that are members of the association, in order to strengthen scientific and academic communication, exchange professors and students, and unify some study programs between this alliance.
Fifth: Exchanging success experiences in various scientific fields to encourage good competition between universities.
At the end of the day's activities, Prof. Hanan Kamel held meeting with Prof. Nabhan Al-Harrasi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Oman University in the Sultanate of Oman, in the presence of: Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, discussed how to activate aspects of joint cooperation, develop the faculty library, propose holding training courses at the Al-Issar Center for employees from the Sultanate of Oman, create joint programs for special groups, and send student delegations for bachelor’s and postgraduate studies to join the faculty.
They also toured the classrooms, the faculty library, the electronic vision center, and the computer laboratories.
Deans and academics from various universities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Mansoura University and Cairo University participated in the meeting.
