Under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the music and singing team at Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of the University, participated in the activities of the Twelfth Season Creativity Festival in the field of music and choir, which was launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and under the administrative supervision of Professor Ibrahim. Saeed, Assistant University Secretary for Education and Student Affairs.
In the specialist competitions, Ain Shams students presented several works, including an instrumental medley from the works of Omar Khairat and Khaled Hammad and individual songs (Arifa’s song - music from the film Captain Egypt - music from the cultural film and Samir, Shahir and Bahir) and a lyric medley (from the works of Omar Khairat and Khaled Hammad). Also the students worked on (Sika Tonic), trained, and led by Ahmed Salem.
Non-specialists also competed in competitions with distinguished singing works, instrumental medley from the works of Khaled Hammad and Omar Khairat, and solos (medley by Khaled Hammad and Hisham Nazih - The Miser and Me - Medley by Omar Khairat and Khaled Hammad) and a singing medley (from the works of Khaled Hammad, Omar Khairat and Hisham Nazih) and led by Mahmoud Sami
The choir participated in a student work (Acapella, a lamentation poem for Mai Ziyada), individual songs (Ya Wabour Olby- Shaet El-Akdar – Yalley Sameeny), and a medley from the Egyptian drama (A Father’s Story), trained, visioned, and directed by Mahmoud Sami.
The music and choir jury includes an elite group of senior specialists, the distinguished singer Nadia Mostafa, maestro Ezz El-Din Taha, and singer and composer Tarek Fouad.
It is worth noting that the activities in the field of music and choir for the Ebdaa Festival competitions are held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Theater in Abu Qir in Alexandria and continue during the period from February 15 to February 21 of this month.
