Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, honored Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, as the university achieved great success in the first version of the classification, which is issued for the first time in cooperation, between the Association of Arab Universities, the League of Arab States, the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils. Ain Shams University came in fourth place.
Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen expressed his happiness with this honor, offering thanks to all university employees for the effort made to advance the university in all aspects, and expressed his pride in the achievements made by Ain Shams University in the international classifications file, these classifications include a variety of indicators and standards that evaluate the quality of education, research, the university’s scientific impact on the world level, and other standards. His Excellency also confirmed that Ain Shams University’s obtaining an advanced position in these classifications reflects its superiority in the academic and innovative fields and excellence in multiple fields, which enhances its position as a leading educational institution at the local and global levels.
He added that we are committed to providing distinguished education and building strong international relationships to enhance our position as a global educational institution.
This came during the ceremony of distributing certificates for the Arab classification of universities 2023, issued by the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the League of Arab States, the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, during the opening of the 14th session of the International Forum and Exhibition for Higher Education and Training EduGate, 208 Arab universities participated in this year’s classification.
The classification included the teaching and learning index, the scientific research index, the creativity and innovation index, and the participation index.
This came in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Social Affairs Sector, and Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Kamal, Director of the Institute for Arab Research and Studies in Cairo. And the representative of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Abdel Majeed Bin Amara, Secretary-General of the Union of Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Ali Shams El-Din, President of the International Forum for Higher Education and Training, a group of higher education leaders, and a large number of presidents of Egyptian and Arab universities.
