Within the framework of Ain Shams University’s keenness to develop students’ capabilities, provide them with practical skills qualified for the labor market, and keep up with developments in the field of media, the Faculty of Media, Ain Shams University, organized a training course for the college’s students, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Diaa Zein Al-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, under the supervision of Prof. Heba Shaheen, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Salwa Suleiman, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Gazzar, managing editor of Rose Al-Youssef magazine and a veteran journalist in the field of television journalism, and Mr. Amr Al-Ansari, a certified lecturer at the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate for digital journalism and content creation, an advisor to the International Center for Journalists, and a writer for the International Journalists’ Network, gave a lecture at the course.
The course discussed television journalism, from the idea to the presentation on the screen, in addition to preparing news and television programs, while clarifying the foundations of television preparation.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Jazzar pointed out about how to create and develop television ideas, and the roles and tasks of the television preparer and the preparation team.
He also explained to the students the importance of arming themselves with media skills, how to create content, script writing skills, and dealing with sources and guests, in addition to the skills of conducting dialogue and interviews, managing live broadcasts, and dealing with studio tools and the control room. The workshop also discussed the ethics of television work, and how to overcome the problems facing media professionals.
Mr. Amr Al-Ansari explained the concepts of digital journalism, content creation, and profit from freelancing. He also presented the skills and rules of professional digital writing for websites, the skills of producing digital and open source investigations, in addition to writing skills for social media sites.
The workshop covered how to analyze content, determine the target audience, choose the type of content and the appropriate marketing channel for it, and how to create digital content.
Faculty the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Heba Shaheen, Acting Dean of the Faculty, honored the lecturers in appreciation for their efforts in enriching the students’ practical experiences and equipping them with media labor market skills.
