The Faculty of Arts holds a symposium entitled "Cultural Project and Quality of Life"

The Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, organized a symposium entitled “The Cultural Project and Quality of Life,” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, under the supervision of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and coordinated by Prof. Naglaa Moselhi, Head of the Sociology Department.

Dr. Gehan Hassan, General Director of Children’s Culture and General Supervisor of the Cultural Project for Alternative Slum Areas across the Republic, and Prof. Abdel Wahab Gouda, Professor of Sociology and Dr. Mona Hafez, Professor of Sociology present lectures at the symposium.

   
   

The symposium discussed the importance of culture and cultural planning and its relationship to quality of life, and presented indicators of quality of life, including economic, social, cultural and political, the ability to think and make decisions, positive healthy social relationships, satisfaction with life and the individual’s sense of happiness.

As well as the importance of cultural deficiencies in changing society and transferring its members to a qualitative shift that aims to build an advanced society, through caring for and qualifying families culturally and artistically. Example: In the areas of (Al-Asmarat), our people are Sayyida Zainab Al-Mahrousa Kindergarten in Cairo Governorate. Striving to achieve true quality in these areas, through awareness. Cultural, which is carried out through cultural and artistic programs, for the residents of the areas as an alternative to slums, in order to create a safe and happy environment using many mechanisms, including culture palaces, libraries, and street theaters to raise awareness, and achieve the integration of the people with the culture of good life, leading society to progress and advancement.

The symposium ended with the project continuing throughout the Republic until cultural illiteracy is eliminated and replaced with a culture of quality of life.
