Amid official and popular praise from the people of the Shalateen, Halayeb and Abu Ramad regions, the Ain Shams Comprehensive Development University convoy completed its activities, under the auspices of Major General Staff Officer. Dr. Amr Mohamed Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, and Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Hala Samir Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community and Environmental Affairs, under the administrative supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community and Environmental Affairs, and coordination of Mr. Tariq Amer, Director General of the General Administration of Environmental Projects. This is in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the General Authority for Adult Education.
The faculties of medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy and university hospitals participated in the convoy. The convoy’s clinics in various specialties received nearly three thousand beneficiaries, who received the necessary medicine from the convoy’s pharmacy for free. 80 patients were also transferred to receive treatment at Ain Shams University Specialized Hospitals, in addition to distributing 7,500 cartons of food supplies to the people of the three regions.
As part of its keenness to spread awareness among school students, the activities of the comprehensive development convoy included presenting nine awareness campaigns, which included: the art of dealing with patients, healthy habits to prevent diseases, personal hygiene and protection from diseases, proper nutrition and its impact on health, building a positive personality, moral values and their role in building society, raising awareness about the dangers of drug addiction, causes, effects, and methods of prevention and treatment.
