The completion of the first stage of the Innovation Competition at the Faculty of Mass Communication to qualify for the ASU Innovates Competition

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Heba Shaheen, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Prof. Salwa Suleiman, Acting Vice President of the Faculty of Information for Education and Student Affairs, and under Supervision of Mr. Adel Al-Sabbagh, Director General of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Islam Adly, Director of Student Activities at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Dr. Nada Mounir, Director of the Innovation Center at the Faculty of Information, on Sunday, March 3, the first stage of the innovation competition at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Ain Shams University ended in the presence of Prof. Heba Shaheen and Prof. Salwa Suleiman, Dr. Nada Mounir, Dr. Weam Mahmoud and Dr. Islam Adly from the Innovation Center.

         
   
         

The competition witnessed the participation and distinguished competition of three teams of college students with innovative ideas, as the first team presented an electronic platform entitled Bareeq, which offers educational courses in the fields of personal skills, emotional intelligence, and communication, as well as technical skills such as programming and information technology, with the aim of preparing students for the labor market with the presence of a podcast. Follow the platform to be a link between them and the students.

The second team presented a platform called ICS, targeting talented students in Egyptian universities to provide its services to the youth group in exchange for appropriate financial compensation, which gives them an opportunity to work and be the focus of attention of investors, and as an intermediary between the service seeker and its provider. Dr. Weam emphasized the importance of measurability of needs and successes. Dr. Heba Shaheen stressed on the importance of focusing on the labor market.

While the third idea linked psychological and mental health to studying through a daily diary linked to an application entitled Footsteps, which provides several steps to encourage students to study, including the presence of a daily to-do list, as well as a daily and weekly challenge with a reward system, and Dr. Heba Shaheen highlighted the importance of the idea and its connection to the student community as a living problem they are experiencing.

At the end of the competition, Dr. Weam confirmed that all the teams participating in this competition were winners, because the students received feedback and modifications that would help them improve their ideas and study them more strongly.

The jury announced that the ICS team won first place, the Khotta team won second place, and the Bareeq team won the third place.
