The meeting of graduates of the Italian Language Department with faculty staff and bachelor’s degree students

The Italian Language Department at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, at Ain Shams University, organized a meeting for graduates of the Italian Language Department with faculty staff and bachelor’s degree students, under the patronage of Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Prof. Nasser Abdel-Al, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Marwa Abdel Moneim Tantawi, Chair of the Scientific Department Council.

Prof. Marwa Abdel Moneim Tantawi, Chair of the Scientific Department Council, opened the activities of meeting with graduates of the Italian Language Department, under the auspices of the Alumni Association of Ain Shams University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, and the Graduate Follow-up and Vocational Training Unit, and in the presence of Prof. Suzan Badie Iskandar, full-time professor of Italian literature in the department, Dr. Imad Al-Baghdadi, full-time professor of linguistics in the department, Dr. Suhaima Salim Saleh, Prof. Fawzi Issa, Dr. Thamar Mustafa, Dr. Nermin Wajih, Prof. Reham Amer, Dr. Samah Muhammad Wad, Ramez Sami, Dr. Marina Fahim, faculty staff in the department, and members of teaching assistants who participated in organizing the meeting.

During her speech, Prof. Marwa Tantawi, Professor of Italian Literature and Head of the Italian Language Department, greeted the guests and expressed her happiness at this meeting, which includes an elite group of the most prominent graduates who have held prestigious positions in various fields and includes generations separated in time but linked by the basic home that influenced their professional lives. She expressed her gratitude for their interest in participating to pass on their experiences to the new students.

   
   

The talk was opened by Mrs. Manal Al-Maghrabi, the Italian language supervisor at the Ministry of Education, spoke about her experience in the field of teaching, and stressed the importance of the Italian language and its teaching. She also shared with the students the decision of the Ministry of Education to teach the Italian language starting in the middle school, which requires more staff working in the field of language teaching. She also stressed the necessity and importance of preparing an educational diploma to work in schools.

Mrs. Iman Ghoneim expressed her experience in the labor market and encouraged students to commit to studying and its importance. She also shared with them her current experience in the field of preparing educational television programs in the Italian language, as well as the various activities carried out by the Misr Foundation for Development. This is in the presence of the institution’s director, Mr. Osama Fawzi.

Dr. Nermin Wajih Hakim, a translation teacher in the department, shared her experience in the field of simultaneous and consecutive translation, and advised students on the importance of mastering skills, especially listening, stressing that all college skills essentially help in acquiring translation skills, especially listening and Italian grammar, in addition to the Arabic language.

Nefert Company also participated in the meeting in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Director of the Tourist Guidance Department at Nofert Company, and preparer of references for archaeological programs on radio and television, and graduate of Department Mrs. Nada Hassan, director of the Logistics and Customer Service Department at Nefert Company, spoke about the fields available to graduates of the department, especially the field of aviation and call centers in the field of tourism.

Mrs. Menna Yasser, Director of the Company's Languages and Translation Department, spoke about the field of freelancing and its advantages, the most important sites available to graduates of the department, and the most important translation programs using modern technology.

In the field of call centers, Dr. Emad Saad, General Manager of Operations at Concentrix Egypt, spoke about the importance of mastering work and career progression through effort and perseverance.

In the field of tourism, Mrs. Iman Al-Laithi, Director of Tourism at Long Range Travel Company, indicated about the protocol between the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Long Range Company, noting the company’s interest in training students and graduates of the company’s department in various governorates, including Cairo, Marsa Alam, Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor, and Aswan.

Mrs. Marian stressed the importance of professionalism in students’ dealings, uplifting behavior and good manners to qualify them for the labor market. She also encouraged students to attend activities organized by the institute specifically for the department’s students so that they can develop the language.

The Education for Employment Foundation - Egypt participated for the first time in the presence of Mrs. Fayrouz Muhammad, Assistant Business Developer at the Foundation, gave a presentation on the various training courses offered by the Foundation to qualify students for the labor market.

Mr. Islam Wahid, certified trainer at Vodafone Italy - Arabic language and Quran lecturer for Italians online, spoke about his various experiences in the labor market and how to develop the language.

Mr. Ali Khamis, a graduate of the recent class of 2023, also participated with his experience in summer training in Marsa Alam with Long Range Company with the assistance of the department, stressed the importance of helping others.

The meeting was attended by graduates of the department from different batches that extended from 1979 until the last batch in 2023. Among the attendees were an elite group of graduates in the fields of translation, economics, management, teaching, tourism, public relations, and others.

The department’s graduates presented their experiences in the labor market and how to overcome the difficulties they faced. Most of the interventions emphasized the interest in the fields of work in evaluating the applicant’s good behavior and respect for elders, which are no less important than excellence in language and other skills. The graduates also responded in an atmosphere of friendliness and fun to the students’ questions and inquiries, stressing the importance of self-learning and skills development before searching for financial income.

The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of friendliness and looking forward to other meetings of this kind.
