Prof. Najwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, received a high-level delegation from the British University of Essex, including Dr. Vanessa Potter – Global Vice President Dr. Anisi Lax - Dean of Partnerships (Education) Rozanna Kailani Regional Director (Pakistan and Central Asia) Hassan Abdul Rahim Director of International Recruitment (North Africa, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), were accompanied on the tour by Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, and Prof. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability and Prof. Weam Mahmoud, Deputy Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Ain Shams University, Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Sherine Rady, Director of Accredited Programs.
The visit included a tour of the college, a visit to the laboratory, and getting to know the robot “Shams.” Also, Prof. Najwa Badr and Prof. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, reviewed the faculty’s vision and goals, as the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences has become an educational, research, and community institution known for its excellence and leadership in the field of computers and information at the local, regional, and global levels.
It seeks to prepare specialized cadres in the field of computers and information who have a great deal of scientific and applied knowledge and skills that are compatible with the needs of the changing labor market within a framework of values and ethics, in addition to deepening scientific awareness and interest in applied research in the framework of partnership with institutions and companies by creating the appropriate environment for that, and seeking to communicate with the community and meet its needs by providing consulting and research expertise that serves the community in a distinguished way that helps achieve integrated and continuous development.
Her Excellency also clarified that the faculty accepts programs for the fees of students who have obtained the high school diploma in its two divisions, science and mathematics, or the equivalent of Arab and foreign certificates, who have the minimum qualifications for the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences in Egyptian public universities, and the study is based on the credit hour system.
She stressed that the programs of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences were established in line with the requirements of the labor market in the field of information technology and software, and that the faculty's programs are unique in that they have a cooperation agreement with the University of East London through which two accredited certificates are obtained.
It is worth noting that Ain Shams University offers a package of distinguished new programs in various fields and specializations (medical programs, engineering and information technology programs - commercial programs - language and translation programs - scientific programs, etc.), which keep pace with international standards and the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market.
These programs are distinguished by providing high-quality education in non-typical specializations and a modern study system to target a distinguished graduate. These programs represent a model in education that mainly follows the standards of the National Authority for Educational Quality Assurance and Accreditation, and they serve as the nucleus of a unique model for developing the educational process and financial resources in universities.
These programs also provide the opportunity to integrate more than one specialization in the field that the student is receiving, in addition to relying more on the practical aspects than the theoretical aspect.
