A workshop on documentary photography of historical buildings at the Faculty of Archeology

The Environmental Projects Unit at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, hosted a workshop entitled: (Documentary Photography of Historical and archaeological nature buildings), under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Bassem Mohamed, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the supervision of Dr. Menna Allah Tarek, Director of the Environmental Projects Unit.

   
   

The workshop was attended by Dr. Karim Abdel Qawi Badr, a documentary photographer who holds a master’s degree in cultural heritage from the Sorbonne University, is one of the photographers interested in identity and heritage. During the visit, he was interested in helping students and attendees interested in photography in dealing with archaeological documentation and photography.

He also explained the dimensions of images and the cadres that are important to focus on in order to reach an image with sound dimensions and standards.

The workshop was characterized by great interaction, as the students presented to the guest examples of photos they had taken of some antiquities, where he expressed his opinion on them and drew their attention to the mistakes they had made.
