A workshop on international scientific publishing at the Faculty of Archeology

The Scientific Publishing Unit at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, organized a free (remote) workshop entitled: International Scientific Publishing, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and coordinated by Dr. Shaima Ahmed, Director of the Scientific Publishing Unit.

         
   
         

Dr. Ali Abdel Halim, Professor of Egyptology, and Director General of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Dr. Hassan Obaid, lecturer of manuscript restoration at the Faculty of Archeology, Dr. Ahmed Naqshara, lecturer at the Department of Museum and Archaeological Sites Management, Dr. Islam Ezzat, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Museum and Archaeological Sites Management, and researcher at Cergy Paris University, Mr. Walid Akef, researcher at Harvard University and the Washington Dumbarton Oaks Center.

The workshop was held over the course of two days, Wednesday and Thursday, March 6-7, 2024, with the aim of identifying the easiest ways to write research in a scientific manner using modern technologies, and a large number of students and those interested participated in it.

The workshop dealt with how to write a research to be published internationally, or develop a research plan for submission to various grants, choose the appropriate title for the research paper, how to pay attention to abstracts, and learn about the sciences that help the researcher in the field of archaeology. It also addressed the reasons for rejecting or accepting research globally and internationally to avoid the reasons that lead to rejection. Research; Which will qualify the researcher to publish his research in scientific journals with a high impact factor.
