Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research congratulated the winning student teams in the Arab and African software competition, which was held in Luxor Governorate, sponsored by the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, the Ministry’s Innovators and Geniuses Fund, and several other parties.
The Minister expressed his great happiness at the victory of the Egyptian teams in the competition, pointing out the importance of these competitions in refining the students’ personalities and talents, developing their mental abilities, and enhancing their spirit of innovation and creativity, especially in the field of software and technology, stressing the Ministry’s interest in motivating students to innovate and entrepreneurship within the framework of the strategy. The National Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030, which considers the principle of innovation and entrepreneurship to be one of its most prominent principles, appreciating all the efforts made by the Fund for Nurturing Innovators and Geniuses in supporting students’ creative abilities in all fields that serve development purposes in Egypt.
For his part, Dr. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Innovators Support Fund, said that the Arab and African competition was attended by more than 140 teams from 79 universities from 13 Arab and African countries. The Fund supported the Egyptian university teams participating in the competition, pointing to the winning teams from the Egyptian universities, where they won the gold medal from Egypt is a team from the German University in Cairo, and two teams from Cairo University and a team from Ain Shams University won the silver medal. The bronze medal was also won by teams from Assiut University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, pointing out that 5 Egyptian teams and 7 Arab teams qualified to participate in the competition. International Software Conference, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting that, on the sidelines of the conclusion of the Arab African Software Competition (ACPC), the Innovators Support Fund was honored; In appreciation of his role in supporting the Egyptian university teams participating in the competition, Dr. Nancy Naguib, Director of the Fund's Discovery of Geniuses Program, received the honorary shield on behalf of Dr. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Fund.
