The launching of the Innovation and Training Sector Initiative, “A Comprehensive and Equal Student Community” to qualify students with special needs for the labor market

Within the framework of Ain Shams University’s interest in supporting students with special needs, which comes from the Egyptian state’s vision and development plan 2030, Egypt is considered one of the most important countries praised in social work in general, especially in the field of care and rehabilitation of people with special needs, and under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El- Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Nevin Assem, Head of the Innovation and Training Sector at the University, held meeting with a number of students with special needs within the Ain Shams University initiative headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El- Abedeen towards supporting students with special needs under the title “A comprehensive and equal student Community” and directing towards the necessity of effectively integrating them into various activities and implementing distinguished programs to train them in all fields and completing the role of the Center for People with Disabilities headed by Dr. Rana Al-Hilali at the university, who has been caring for students with disabilities for more than five years.

         
   
         

Prof. Nevin Assem indicated that the initiative is the result of cooperation between the sectors of innovation, training, education and students, appreciating the great role played by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, stressing that the primary goal of the training plan developed by the training and innovation sector is to provide people with special needs at the university with skills and knowledge, and the necessary support to qualify them for the labor market by providing training programmes, accommodation and support services specifically designed for them, enhancing their employability and enabling them to succeed in their chosen careers by enhancing the skills of students with disabilities related to the labor market, including communication, time management, problem solving and teamwork to improve their employability.

It also helps students with special needs to explore their interests, strengths, and professional goals, and provides them with guidance and personal resources to plan their career paths effectively, in addition to providing participants with practical experience and exposure to professional environments, and enhancing their confidence, skills, and readiness for employment through summer training.

In addition to creating a supportive network of mentors who can provide guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to help participants overcome challenges, achieve their professional goals, and develop participants’ life skills, such as communication, interpersonal skills, leadership, and self-confidence, to improve their effectiveness in the workplace.

Prof. Nevin Assem added that the implementation of this comprehensive training plan aims to enable people with special needs at the university to overcome obstacles, acquire valuable skills, and succeed in the labor market. Through customized training programs, competitions, initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all.
