Coinciding with the World Voice Day (WVD), the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University organized a celebration of World Voice Day, which falls on April 16 of each year, as part of the keenness to spread and enhance health awareness in the community, under the patronage of Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the faculty, Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, Prof. Lubna Mohamed Salem Al-Feky, Head of the Ear, Nose and Throat Department.
The celebration focused on raising awareness of the importance of the voice, how to preserve it, and training the voice for speaking and singing.
The process of producing sound in humans was also discussed, and a video was shown showing the relationship between breathing and the production of air and sound in humans.
The celebration was organized and managed by Prof. Nirvana Gamal El-Din Hafez, Professor and Head of the Speech Pathology Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
Participated in the celebration: Dr. Alia Khader, Prof. Nahla Rifai is a full-time professor at the unit, along with aseveral people interested in voice and throat diseases and those working in the field.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Prof. Mohamed Nasser Qutbi, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Speech Language, and Prof. Mohamed Baraka, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Speech Language.
