Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received a high-level delegation from the Republic of Chad in Cairo, headed by Mr. Chonay Alimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad, in the presence of Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of International Students and Mobility Office at the University, the delegation included Mr. Hassan Yaqoub, First Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Hani Ali Abu Al-Kass, Advisor to the Ambassador, and Mr. Nabil Nasr, Advisor to the Ambassador.
The visit aims to strengthen cultural and academic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, opportunities for joint cooperation between Ain Shams University and universities in the Republic of Chad were discussed in the academic and research fields and the exchange of experiences in the field of higher education. This includes training for faculty staff there and exchange of students and professors.
Emphasis was also placed on cooperation in the medical field, veterinary medicine and agriculture to benefit from Ain University’s experts in these fields. Ways to enhance cultural exchange and organize joint events were also reviewed, including the launch of Ain Shams University medical convoys in the Republic of Chad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to hold more meetings to develop a vision for possible ways of cooperation between Ain Shams University and universities in the Republic of Chad.
The meeting comes in the context of Ain Shams University's efforts to expand and strengthen the international cooperation network with brotherly and friendly countries.
