Within the framework of the activities organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University to celebrate World Earth Day, which falls on April 22 every year, a number of events were organized that included planting trees, “Plant a Tree Campaign,” and lighting the Zafaran Palace in green, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Coordination of Prof. Gehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the administrative supervision of Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General of the University.
It is worth noting that the “Plant a Tree Campaign” within the presidential initiative 100 Million Trees participated in the activities of the “Plant a Tree Campaign” by planting a number of fruit trees throughout the university’s faculties, a group of faculties deans and vice deans for community service and environmental development affairs, in addition to... Trimming trees aesthetically at the university and around the university, while providing awareness about rationalizing consumption (water - energy).
The activities aim to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, activate the university’s role in preserving it, raise the level of social responsibility, contribute to reducing environmental pollution, and motivate the university community to assume social responsibility and support the environment.
