Amid broad participation from young Arab researchers from various universities and academic institutions in the Arab world, the activities of the first forum for young Arab researchers were launched, organized by the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Dean of the Faculty and President of the Conference, Prof. Hatem Rabie Hassan, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Conference Rapporteur.

In his speech, Mr. Hisham Azmy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, stressed that scientific research represents a true basis for progress and development of society, and that it transcends the boundaries of narrow scientific disciplines.

He added that all the various academic specializations included in the faculty play an important role in enhancing scientific research in Egypt.

In her speech, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Forum, expressed her happiness at holding this important scientific event that brings together young Arab researchers. Noting that the goal is to build a new generation of scientists and researchers, who care about the future of scientific research in the region, we strive to develop a supportive and encouraging environment for young researchers to achieve their contributions and innovative ideas.

Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty and Rapporteur of the Forum, stressed the importance of cooperation and communication between researchers from different disciplines, and the need to enhance communication between young researchers from various scientific disciplines, as new opportunities for innovative thinking and promoting development in multiple fields can arise.

He added: We are working to provide an inspiring community environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and continuous learning, and we have confidence that young Arab researchers will become pioneers in the field of scientific research and will contribute to the development of our societies and the world in general.

The seminars and workshops held during the forum, with the participation of a number of young Arab researchers from various universities and academic institutions in the Arab world, addressed various topics in the fields of social and human studies, highlighting the importance of these fields in understanding society’s challenges and providing innovative scientific solutions.

The discussions centered on ways to develop scientific research and enhance its quality, in addition to exchanging experiences and ideas among attendees, and expanding the field of academic cooperation between various Arab countries.

This is the first initiative of its kind in the region, as the forum provides an opportunity for young people to communicate and get to know each other, and exchange experiences and ideas. It is hoped that these experiences and discussions will contribute to encouraging Arab youth to practice scientific research and enhance the scientific spirit in their societies.

With this successful forum, young Arab researchers proved once again that scientific research is not limited to specific fields, but rather includes all academic fields and specializations. It is expected that similar forums will be held in the future to encourage more young people to practice scientific research and achieve progress and development in society.

Within the framework of the recommendations of the First Forum for Young Arab Researchers, a number of measures were proposed to enhance cooperation and communication between participants and achieve the objectives of the forum. Here are some of those recommendations:

Recommendations of the First Forum for Young Arab Researchers:

First: The forum is held annually, periodically, in early May of each year

Second: Launching a website for the forum through which communication can be made between the forum’s board of directors and researchers from various Arab countries.

Third: Approving the formation of a fixed founding committee that represents a stable nucleus for the forum’s future board of directors.

Fourth: The interest of the founding committee of the forum in opening bridges of cooperation between researchers from various specializations in all Arab countries to prepare joint environmental research in an effort to achieve a convergence of ideas and exchange of visions.

Fifth: Early annual announcement of the date of the next forum to expand the scope of participation among Arab researchers.

Sixth: Recommending allocating an award for the best research in the forum at each session.

Seventh: Directing young researchers to link their research to societal issues and actual needs, keeping scientific research abreast of developments and current events, and paying attention to the orientalism of the future.

Eighth: Submitting a recommendation to the innovation and training sector at the university to develop the programs provided by the sector to develop the capabilities of faculty members in an effort to develop the research capabilities of young researchers.

Ninth: Diversifying the venues for holding the forum annually.

Tenth: Expanding the scope of the forum’s activities to include specialized workshops, book exhibitions, and art exhibitions on the sidelines of the forum’s activities.

Implementing these recommendations will contribute significantly to the future of the forum and its sustainable vision, and will enhance cooperation and interaction between young Arab researchers and advance science and knowledge in Arab society.
