The third conference of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, which was held from May 14 to May 17, emphasized the necessity of early diagnosis and initiating treatment to avoid side effects of immune diseases and their impact on the various body systems. The activities of the conference, which was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, began with workshops held on the sidelines of the conference on Tuesday, May 14 and Friday, May 17, and the scientific sessions took place during the two days of Wednesday and Thursday, May 15, 16.
The scientific sessions began on Wednesday, May 15, with the opening ceremony, which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of University Hospitals.
A large number of rheumatologists from various universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt participated in the conference, with an elite group of doctors from Libya and Sudan.
