The Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University celebrated the World Hypertension Day, under the patronage of Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Nermeen Okasha, Head of the Cardiology Department.
The celebration activities received great interest from faculty staff, students and workers, and included a lecture delivered by Prof. Adel Shabana, Professor of Cardiology, who talked about high blood pressure and possible methods of prevention and treatment, in addition to shedding light on the proper dietary pattern to avoid and treat high blood pressure.
Also, Dr. Yasmeen Abdel Razek, Assistant Professor of Cardiology, gave a lecture on the role of exercise in preventing high blood pressure.
The activities also included measuring blood pressure and providing medical advice to a number of attendees.
This symposium is part of the effort exerted by the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University to raise awareness of the seriousness of high blood pressure, how to prevent it, and ways to treat it, with attention to rehabilitating patients and raising awareness of a healthy diet, which enhances health awareness in society.
