The launch of the activities of the 12nd scientific conference of Ain Shams University under the title: Alliances and Partnerships

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein Al-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, opened the activities of the 12nd scientific conference under the title “Alliances and Partnerships,” which is held under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Affairs Health and Prevention, Mr. Albarro Airantho Gutierrez, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Kim Young Hyun, Ambassador of South Korea in Cairo, His Eminence Bishop Jeremiah, General Bishop and President of the Orthodox Cultural Center, Professor Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University For community service and environmental development affairs and the Acting Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, for Universities, Major General Ahmed Abdel Salam, Executive Director of the Secured and Smart Documents Complex, Prof. Mohamed Samir Hamza, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for strategic planning, training and qualification for the labor market, Dr. Thanaa Hassan, Deputy Higher Education at the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation, and a number of university presidents and representatives of bodies.

In his speech during the conference, the President of the University stressed that this conference is not just a scientific gathering, but rather a platform for interaction and cooperation between creative minds and specialized experts from various fields, noting that the organization of this conference comes as an embodiment of Ain Shams University’s commitment to its pioneering role in advancing the wheel of development and innovation, in the belief that Effective partnerships are the basis for building a bright and sustainable future.

         
   
         

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zein Al-Abedeen explained that the conference aims to enhance constructive interaction between all sectors and colleges, and open new horizons for cooperation between the university and various national and international bodies in the fields of scientific research, education, service to the Egyptian community, and marketing the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship among university members in order to Activating all Egyptian investment fields, in addition to supporting projects that provide a decent life for the Egyptian citizen through partnerships with government agencies and non-profit institutions, and supporting sustainable development projects and major national projects in Egyptian society.

He called on the participants to take advantage of this opportunity to communicate, interact, exchange ideas, and contribute to building a brighter future for the prestigious Ain Shams University and for our dear country.

At the conclusion of his speech, the University President thanked everyone who contributed to organizing this prominent event, and to all the participating scientists and experts who came from different parts of the world to be part of this important event, hoping that the conference would be an incentive to launch new initiatives and a solid ground for achieving more scientific achievements, in order to achieve a better future for Ain Shams University, our society, and our great country, Egypt.

         
   
         

In her speech, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University, said that the conference topic is one of the most prominent issues of our current era, as cooperation and integration between institutions has become an imperative to achieve success and excellence in various fields.

She added that the conference comes as a continuation and follow-up to the university’s integrated strategy and vision and is consistent with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, as previous conferences shed light on the university’s role in building the knowledge economy, creating and promoting a better life, and the challenges of digital transformation.

The conference is also in line with the goals of sustainable development and participates in achieving the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and is consistent with the presidential initiative “Alliances and Development” to support the idea of ​​alliances for integration on more than one level, and to participate in building integrated research departments capable of creating a knowledge economy and achieving an impactful development boom.

She stressed that she is looking forward to the conference coming out with recommendations and action plans to strengthen the university’s relationship with various national and international bodies in the fields of scientific research, education, and serving the Egyptian community, and to present ideas and solutions to activate the university’s role as a technical arm for industry, stimulate Egyptian investment fields agriculturally, industrially, and scientifically, and establish mechanisms, to support projects and applied research that support sustainability and that provide a decent life for society through partnerships with government agencies and civil society and through strengthening partnerships that serve major national projects.

         
   
         

In this context, Ain Shams University does not stop building new alliances and partnerships and always seeks to renew existing partnerships and overcome obstacles and challenges in the short and long term for a more sustainable, resilient and flexible society in facing the challenges of the present and future. The conference witnesses the signing of many agreements in this regard.

It is noteworthy that the conference, which will be held over the course of two days, Thursday and Friday, corresponding to May 30-31, 2024, with the participation of an elite group of experts, academics and specialists, includes a group of distinguished scientific sessions, which address the topics of partnerships in dual degrees and alliances with partners in the fields of engineering, computer science, linguistics, and anti-corruption, controlling and governance, innovation and training, health, business administration, humanities, antiquities, and agriculture, in addition to partnerships with some local and international productive entities that provide innovative job opportunities that help create a climate of entrepreneurship at the national level. In addition to the Measurement and Evaluation Conference of the Scientific Society for Measurement and Evaluation - Union of Arab Universities.

The opening session of the conference witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation protocols, which strengthens the position of Ain Shams University as an active and influential partner in the academic and scientific community, bringing the number of cooperation agreements with external and internal parties to approximately 374 cooperation agreements and protocols, in addition to approximately 137 joint research projects with external and internal parties.

Where Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abieeen, and Mr. Albarro Erantho Gutiérrez, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Arab Republic of Egypt, signed a memorandum of understanding.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain Al-Abiedeen and Prof. Khaled Hamdy Abdel Rahman, President of Al-Ahram Canadian University, also signed memorandum of understanding.

As Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, and Prof. Nidal Al-Rumhi, President of Zarqa University, signed a joint scientific and academic cooperation protocol between the university and Zarqa University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

         
   
         

Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and Mr. Mark Howard, Director of the British Council, concluded a partnership between the Faculty and the Council.

Prof. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, and Dr. Pierre Thalia, Director of the French Institute of Oriental Antiquities in Cairo, signed a memorandum of understanding between the faculty and the institute

         
   
         

It was signed by Prof. Rana El-Helaly, Director of the Service Unit for Students with Disabilities and Ms. Naglaa Qenawy, Head of the Human Resources Sector at Vodafone Company, signed a joint cooperation protocol between the center and Vodafone.

Prof. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, signed with Haluk Karatas a Cooperation agreement with Beko Company.

The university also celebrated the start of a partnership with the University of Nebraska and the Faculty of Medicine, and Uttakolon and Castle Universities with the Faculty of Engineering.
