The Vice President of Ain Shams University meets with the Regional Director of the University Agency for Francophonie in the Middle East

Within the framework of enhancing ways of cooperation between Ain Shams University and the University Agency of Francophonie in areas of common interest, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University, met with Prof. Jean-Noel Baliou, Regional Director of the University Agency of Francophonie in the Middle East, to discuss Francophone activities and various projects between Ain Shams University. And the University Agency of Francophonie in the fields of law, commerce and medicine.

In the presence of Prof. Rasha Ramadan, the agency’s representative in Egypt and the director of the new national office of the University Agency of Francophonie in Cairo. From Ain Shams University, Prof. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, Dr. Iman Abdel Salam, Coordinator of the French Language Study Program at the Faculty of Business, and Dr. Sherif Al-Atafi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, participated at the meeting.

   
   

During the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk explained that this cooperation comes within the framework of strategic relations between Egypt and France, which is in line with the philosophy of Ain Shams University in opening areas of cooperation and benefiting from them in various fields.

The meeting discussed the success of the most important partnerships between Ain Shams University and French universities, such as the partnership between the Faculty of Business and the University of Poitiers, and the partnership between the Faculty of Law and the University of Lyon 3.

Prof. Khaled Qadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, also explained that since 2000, an agreement has been signed between the Faculty of Business, at Ain Shams University and the Institute of Corporate Management - University of Poitiers in France, which is accredited by an international body for quality assurance. Since then, this agreement has been in effect and renewed automatically every four years, in recognition of the two universities’ awareness of the importance of continuing cultural and scientific cooperation between them.

Prof. Shahira Samir presented the broad points of the proposed protocol for the study program in the French language at the Faculty of Medicine. Prof. Jean Noel stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of medicine, and Prof. Ghada Farouk pointed to the various areas of cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and French universities, the most important of which is the University of Strasbourg.

For his part, Prof. Jean-Noel Balliot expressed his happiness with the cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Francophone Agency, especially the success of the regional project for legal clinics in which Ain Shams University participates, and work to continue this success.

Prof. Rasha Ramadan expressed her happiness at hosting her at the university’s 12th scientific conference in the Francophone session to talk about the various areas of cooperation between the agency and the university.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice President of the University extended an invitation to the guests to participate in relevant forums at Ain Shams University on any subsequent occasion.
