Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Development Affairs, the Faculty of Pharmacy, at Ain Shams University, hosted a delegation from the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) and the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in the United States of America, accompanied by Dr. Weam Mahmoud, Executive Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (ASU-iHub) at Ain Shams University, and a number of senior officials and scientists from the Egyptian and American sides.
The delegation was received by Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Rola Milad Labib, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Khaled Abu Zaid, professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at the Faculty.
The tour included a visit to the college’s research laboratories, as well as one of the funded projects, and to follow up on the implementation of Project No. 76, which was awarded to Prof. Khaled Abu Zeid, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and the research team from the department in the field of discovering drugs directed at treating drug-resistant breast cancer, which is being conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy in partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Texas in the United States of America, with a total value of 400 thousand dollars.
