A seminar at the Faculty of Pharmacy on Pharmaceutical discoveries in cooperation with Georgia State University

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, inaugurated the symposium activities entitled “The 1st International Symposium on the Role of Organic, Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Small Molecules Discovery for Biomedical Applications,” organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Faculty, in the presence of Prof. Rabah Ahmed Taha, Head of the Department. Prof. Khaled Abu Zeid, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Dina Lashin, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Dr. Eman Al-Awadhi, coordinator of the event, with the participation of Georgia State University (GSU), headed by Prof. Maged Henry, coordinator, and sponsorship by the American Chemical Society (ACS Egypt Chapter).

         
   
         

Speakers from the Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, and Poland participated in the forum online, as well as Prof. Mohamed Labib, founder of the Center of Excellence for Cancer Research at Tanta University, professor of immunology, and Prof. Yassin Al-Shaer at Sadat City University, Prof. Sameh Abu Zaid at Beni Suef University, Secretary General of ACS, and Dr. Sandra Malika, lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the faculty.

The lectures covered various topics in the field of drug discoveries and applications of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine, in the presence of researchers from many Egyptian universities. The attendees praised the valuable scientific lecture topics.

On the sidelines of the activities, posters of some research submitted by young researchers were displayed, where the teaching assistant Mahmoud Azzazy received a certificate for the best poster.
