Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University, received Prof. Tom Evans, Dean of International Engagement with the Middle East and North Africa Region at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom, to discuss ways of cooperation, in the presence of Prof. Shahira Samir, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector at Ain Shams University.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation in double degrees at the bachelor's/master's level, in addition to joint supervision of doctoral research, student exchange/mobility programs, and cooperation in the research field.
During the meeting, Prof. Ghada Farouk shed light on Ain Shams University's vision, noting that the university seeks to expand international partnerships with all international universities, and the university advances year after year in various international rankings.
She also provided a brief overview of Ain Shams University, its faculties, the number of students, and the dual degrees it grants in cooperation with major international universities, as well as the programs that have received international accreditation, and the number of students coming to the university from different countries of the world. Her Excellency also touched on the university's efforts in the field of sustainable development and the university's centers of excellence.
For his part, Professor Evans expressed his aspiration to establish partnerships with Ain Shams University, which has a prestigious international reputation, noting that the University of Glasgow, which was founded in 1451, is among the top 100 universities in the world, and currently ranks 76th in the QS World University Rankings for 2024, pointing to the university's extensive research and teaching efforts in various disciplines, from medical sciences and life sciences to business studies, computer science, engineering, sustainable development, nursing, museum studies and hospitality, in addition to the university's partnerships with various universities
