The annual international conference on hematology and marrow transplantation at the Faculty of Medicine, at Ain Shams University, was concluded, which was held under the patronage of Prof. Muhammad Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs, Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals.
The conference discussed many important topics and research and medical developments in the field of blood diseases and marrow transplantation. It also included medical courses and workshops directed at new doctors and clinical pharmacists.
The conference also discussed the treatment of advanced cases of immune platelet deficiency and sickle cell anemia patients, and the latest medical analysis methods for bleeding and clotting diseases and various blood tumors. A special session was devoted to discussing modern and advanced methods for performing marrow transplantation from autologous and from a donor.
The conference also discussed the medical treatment of cases with myeloid and lymphocytic leukemia and recommended the use of modern treatment lines and anti-tumor antibodies in treating such cases.
Prof. Muhammad Musa, Professor of Hematology, confirmed that the conference, which lasted over two days, sought to bring together scientists and researchers in the field of clinical blood diseases and tumors and marrow transplantation to exchange their experiences and discuss everything new in this field and exposure to new medicines and their impact on various diseases in the field of blood diseases and marrow transplantation and the extent of their effectiveness. In controlling the course of these diseases.
He added that this conference is an important platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge among specialists, contributes to enhancing cooperation between various medical institutions, and aims to improve health care and develop therapeutic methods in this vital field.
For her part, Prof. Walaa Al-Selkawi, Chairman of the Conference, explained that the conference witnessed wide participation from an elite group of consultants and professors of hematology from Egyptian universities, institutes and hospitals, in addition to contributions from various countries. The conference was also attended by a large group of professors of hematology and marrow transplantation from Ain Shams University and the rest of Egypt’s universities, educational institutes, the army and foreign universities.
