The President of Ain Shams University receives the medical examination committee to determine the recruitment status of university students with special needs

Within the framework of continuous and fruitful cooperation between Ain Shams University and the Cairo Recruitment and Mobilization Department (Cairo Recruitment and Mobilization Area), and in light of the university’s continuous care for its students with special needs and the provision of all services that will facilitate university life for them, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, this morning, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, received Mr. Brigadier General Ahmed Mounir Abu Talib, Deputy Director of the Cairo Recruitment and Mobilization Area, and Mr. Colonel Mohamed Mahmoud Hassan, Head of the Cairo Recruitment and Mobilization Department and Commander of the Military Liaison Offices. This is before the medical committee was held to examine Ain Shams University students with special needs to determine their recruitment procedures, under the supervision and coordination of the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

         
   
         

During the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen presented sincere thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces and the Recruitment and Mobilization Department. In appreciation of their efforts and constructive cooperation to develop the services provided to students within the framework of the directives of the President of the Republic to provide all means of support for students with special needs, and the great and fruitful cooperation with Ain Shams University in facilitating these procedures for our students with special needs, as well as making it easier for their families.

He stressed the university's keenness to strengthen the efforts of the state and its political leadership in providing the necessary support for students with disabilities, empowering them and protecting their rights in a way that supports their positive integration into society.

His Excellency pointed out that the challenges are great in public universities in light of the multiplicity of disabilities, including visual, hearing, mental, motor, and others. Ain Shams University is interested in providing comfort to students and their families and handing them certificates without trouble or effort, taking into account the effort they bear in caring for their children.

         
   
         

For his part, Brigadier General Ahmed Mounir Abu Talib, Deputy Director of the Cairo Recruitment and Mobilization Region, stressed that the Armed Forces are always keen to care for the people of the country, and that the committee will do everything possible to provide medical examination for students of determination, taking into account their medical conditions. The student certificates will be completed as soon as possible to provide comfort to the students and their families.

It was agreed during the meeting to launch a medical examination initiative for the children of faculty members and university employees with special needs to determine their recruitment status.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Mohamed Diaa awarded the university’s shield to members of the committee, in appreciation of their efforts.

The meeting was witnessed by Prof. Nevin Assem, CEO of the Innovation and Training Sector at Ain Shams University, the Vice Deans of Faculties and Administrative Coordination by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

After the meeting, the university president and the guests headed to the Republic Building, where the medical committee was held to examine Ain Shams University students with special needs by the officials of the Recruitment and Mobilization Department, which includes medical officers specialized in the field of orthopedics, ophthalmia, nose, ears, and internal medicine, and their assistants.

It is noteworthy that the university has counted the numbers and names of male students with Special Needs in all Faculties in the academic year 2023/2027 and described the type of disability in preparation for presenting them to the committee.
