The Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University, in coordination with the General Administration of Youth Welfare and the Department of Social and Scientific Activity, organized an educational symposium entitled “The Economic Crisis and How to Confront It.”
The symposium was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, headed by Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, under the administrative supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed, Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, and with the participation of a large number of professors and students.
This symposium comes within the framework of encouraging Egyptian industry, enhancing the spirit of belonging among the youth of Egyptian universities, and achieving Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030.
At the beginning of the symposium, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Hassan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs, praised the importance of awareness symposiums in enhancing student thought and expanding their awareness in various social, scientific, legal, and economic disciplines.
Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Shafi’i, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Education and Student Affairs, gave a speech in which he discussed the developments of the current economic crisis, stressing the university’s role in educating students and raising their level of awareness of various issues.
Prof. Youmna Al-Hamaki, full-time professor of economics at the Faculty of Business and Chairman of the Economic Research Council at the Academy of Scientific Research, spoke about strategic planning, investment, inflation, and the role of the state in development and economic reform. She pointed out that the Egyptian economy is witnessing remarkable stability, which enhances the achievement of the government’s development goals and expectations, in addition to the development of economic technology.
For his part, Prof. Kamal Al-Desouki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rocal Insulating Materials Company, Vice President of the Building Materials Chamber and Head of the Insulating Materials Division in the Federation of Industries, confirmed the importance of the symposium in increasing economic and cultural awareness among students, and preparing cadres capable of supporting the development process and improving the economic performance of society. He explained that students are the pillar of the future and the basis for building the nation, and that these seminars contribute to setting Egypt’s 2030 strategy and coming up with practical solutions to the economic crisis.
The symposium witnessed extensive discussions between students and lecturers, where students raised their questions and concerns, misconceptions were corrected, and questions were answered accurately, which contributed to enhancing their economic understanding.
