A new incubation round at the Faculty of Agriculture and start-up companies to win (300 thousand) for companies nominated for business incubation for biotechnology (BIB)

The Faculty of Agriculture, in cooperation with Nile University and the Academy of Scientific Research, announces the launch of the new Business Incubation Course for Biotechnology (BIB), funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. Registration begins (from August 1 to September 30, 2024) through the website (https://bib-asu.com), to support promising ideas that can be transformed into start-up companies in the fields of biotechnology, believing in the necessity of creating a supportive climate for innovators and creative students and researchers. This is under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Gina El-Feki, Acting Dean of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Amr Farouk, Vice President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Prof. Thanaa El-Nubi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ashraf Bakry Abdel Razek, CEO of the Incubator.

         
   
         

The incubator of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University aims to provide the appropriate environment and financial and technical support for distinguished technological ideas in the field of work of the incubator to reach them into emerging technology companies. Students are trained on the basic principles of entrepreneurship and the importance of creating ideas in a creative way that suits the needs of the market, in addition to transforming the model into a commercial application ready to be launched in the markets. Technical and financial support is provided, and the type of support varies according to the need. Laboratory equipment is provided to serve the acceleration of the development wheel in companies with the presence of specialized consultants and mentors, whether in the fields of biotechnology.

The university also seeks to invest in knowledge and link the outputs of scientific research to industry, ensuring the creation of additional self-resources through the opportunities provided by the Science, Technology and Innovation Incentives Law for universities to establish several companies in various fields.

         
   
         

It is worth noting that a special celebration was held for the Business Incubator for Biotechnology (BIB) and the announcement of the winning startups nominated for incubation at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University. The celebration began with a mini show of the startups, getting to know their ideas and promoting their products. All the products on display were distinguished by being 100% safe Egyptian products from 100% Egyptian raw materials and sources.

The company representatives also expressed their admiration for the students' ideas, enthusiasm, willpower and determination to implement their research ideas and transform them into a final product that can be traded and compete with imported products in the Egyptian market.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the winning startups of the first incubation cycle 2024 at the Business Incubator for Biotechnology (BIB) were announced, with funding of (300 thousand pounds) for each company by decision of Prof. Dr. Gina El-Feki, President of the Academy of Scientific Research, and obtaining service and technical support, consultations, guidance, training and financial support during the incubation cycle.
