A cooperation protocol between Ain Shams and Galala Universities to create an integrated database for researchers in the field of disability studies.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Mohamed El-Sayed El-Shenawy, President of Galala University, signed a cooperation protocol to establish a comprehensive database with the aim of creating an integrated information base for researchers in the field of disability studies, determining scientific research priorities in this field, and following up on scientific and practical studies and research with a broad impact in the field of disability, using a methodology that combines scientific, technical and human resources.

It is worth noting that an academic cooperation protocol was previously concluded between the two parties on 2/28/2021, in order to deepen the bonds of cooperation in the field of education, development and training, scientific research activities, facilitating and exchanging professors, researchers and students between the two parties, exchanging academic and scientific information and references, developing mutually beneficial programs, and cultural, scientific and academic projects and activities.

In fulfillment of the role of Ain Shams University and Galala University in supporting students with special needs, they agreed to establish a comprehensive database that collects all academic research related to the field of disability studies, to enhance the ability of policy makers and academics to make informed decisions and develop policies and programs related to disability and improve the lives of this important segment of society.

The signing of the protocol was attended by Prof. Ihab Hassanein, Vice President of Galala University, and Prof. Nevin Assem, CEO of the Innovation and Training Sector.

This research project will be carried out in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Unit at Al-Jalala University under the supervision of Prof. Dina Arabi, as the database will provide comprehensive data for disability-related research, which will lead researchers to focus on addressing the shortcomings in current scientific research, and encourage more research in this important field to empower people with disabilities and achieve the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
