Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, announced the opening of admission to the faculty’s postgraduate programs for the academic year 2024/2025, starting from 8/1/2024 to 8/31/2024, under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Acting Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs.
She explained that admission will be opened for a number of diplomas, including the Postgraduate Diploma in Language, Literature and Translation, the Diploma in Written and Simultaneous Translation, and the Diploma in Translation Technology in the departments of English, French, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Persian, African Languages, Korean, Arabic, the Department of Arabic for Non-Native Speakers, Italian, Spanish, and German, and the qualification for a doctorate in languages in the specializations of language, literature and translation. The admission exams are scheduled to be held during the period from September 8 to 11, 2024.
Prof. Ashraf Attia, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that the Translation Technology Program is one of the new and distinguished programs, and comes in line with the requirements of the labor market and familiarity with modern technology related to translation activities. It is one of the most popular programs among students.
He added that applying for graduate programs is done electronically through the UMS system, where the student registers his data and uploads all the required certificates and documents on the link: https://ums.asu.edu.eg
The Graduate Studies Department at the faculty then examines these documents, reviews the data, and responds to the applicant by accepting the application when all conditions are met.
The written admission exams for students applying for the diploma and doctoral stages are scheduled to be held from September 8 to September 11, and the oral exams will be held on September 17.
