ASU Racing Team Wins several awards at the 5th Electric Car Rally

Ain Shams University Racing Team (ASU Racing Team) achieved many advanced positions in the events of the fifth edition of the Electric Car Rally, which was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and within the framework of the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy 2030 adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research headed by Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, and the support of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and the management of a team from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IHUB) at the university in the New Alamein City.

   
   

The opening of the electric car rally was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Mr. Ashraf Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Media Services Company, Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and Mr. Amr El-Feki, CEO and Managing Director of the United Company. The events were also attended by a large number of presidents of Egyptian universities participating in the initiative, and a number of officials and leaders of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

   
   

Ain Shams University Racing Team won first place in Communication, second place in the Dynamic Track, second place in the Cost and Business areas in the Dynamic Track, and second place in the Appraid EV Track, in addition to the Best Self-Driving Vehicle Presentation Award.

The team supervisors are Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud Abdel Wahab and Dr. Mohamed Essam Shalaby.

It is worth noting that the idea of ​​the Electric Car Rally was inspired by the participation of the Faculty of Engineering students in several international competitions, including the Formula 1 competition for engineering students worldwide in the United Kingdom, in which the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University participates annually.

43 teams from different Egyptian universities participated in the events, competing in 3 different categories: Concept Track, Dynamic Track, and then the Autonomous Track category, which was added as a new category in this version, with a total prize of one million pounds for the winning teams in the various challenges in the final event, in addition to a prize of 100 thousand pounds, provided by one of the competition sponsors for the winning students.
