Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, confirms its absolute condemnation of any assault on medical staff while performing their work, and confirms its full respect for the law and its complete confidence in Egypt's fair judiciary, as the incident was referred to the Public Prosecution in Case No. 3747 of 2024, Al-Waili Administrative.

In this context, the university administration clarifies that Ain Shams Specialized Hospital received the patient Abdel Aziz Fouad at 5:00 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the emergency department. While the doctor was performing his work and immediately admitting the patient to the cardiac intensive care unit, the patient's brother, the artist Mohamed Fouad, attended with a number of people, where they threatened the doctor in charge, Dr. Mustafa Ayman Mohamed, assistant lecturer of cardiology at the Specialized Hospital, and insulted him with obscene words. The security personnel and nurses present in the emergency department were also assaulted, and the entire incident was recorded by the emergency department's surveillance cameras.

The university administration confirms that its medical and therapeutic services are available to all citizens around the clock, within the framework of the university hospital system across the republic, which serves about 25 million patients annually.
