Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Grand Competition for Music and Choral between the University’s Faculties was held from the 5th to the 15th of August, with the participation of the Faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine, Arts, Law, Al- Alsun, Girls, Engineering, and Business.
This was under the general supervision and administrative coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs. The festival was judged by professors specialized in the field of music and choral.
Prof. Amal Gamal El-Din Mohamed – Professor of Arabic Music Department, Faculty of Music Education – Helwan University
Prof. Ahmed Saad Amin – Professor of Singing Department, Higher Institute of Arabic Music – Academy of Arts
Dr. Moataz Sayed Metwally – Lecturer in the Department of Music Composition and Conducting, Higher Institute of Arabic Music – Academy of Arts
The result was as follows:
1- The Faculty of Al- Alsun won first place in group singing
2- The Faculty of Arts won second place in group singing
3- The Faculty of Law won third place in group singing
The individual singing competition for female students came where each of them won:
Student / Malak Sharif – at the Faculty of Al- Alsun First place
Student / Shahd Ayman – at the Faculty of Al- Alsun Second place
Student / Afnan Ashraf – at the Faculty of Engineering Third place
Student / Sama Osama – at the Faculty of Engineering Third place repeated
The result of the individual competition for female students came with the victory of each of them:
Student / Abdullah Al-Jundi, at the Faculty of Arts, first place
Student / Omar Osama, at the Faculty of Medicine, second place
Student / Khaled Hossam, at the Faculty of Medicine, third place
The group performance competition also saw the Faculty of Engineering win first place in group performance, the Faculty of Al- Alsun won second place in group performance, and the Faculty of Law won third place in group performance. The student Khaled Ahmed from the Faculty of Law also won the solo performance award, first place, and the student Abdullah Mutansir from the Faculty of Engineering won the solo performance award, first place repeated.
The student / Faris Ahmed, at the Faculty of Law, won the solo performance award, second place, and the student / Rita Elia, at the Faculty of Law, won the solo performance award, second place, and the student / Mariam Hani, at the Faculty of Business, won the solo performance award, third place, and the student / Farah Hani, at the Faculty of Business, won the solo performance award, third place, and the student / Farah Hani, at the Faculty of Business, won the solo performance award, third place, repeated.
The students who do not have singing groups in their faculty also won the individual competition, where student/Mohamed Abdel Raouf Ahmed – at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences won first place in individual singing, student/Ahmed Medhat Sayed Ahmed, at the Faculty of Agriculture won second place, and student/Nady Magdy Daa El-Insaf, at the Faculty of Science won third place.
The preparation and implementation were supervised by Ms. Asmaa Ali Khater – General Manager of the General Administration of Youth Care, Mr. Mustafa Issa – Director of the Artistic Activity Department, and the Artistic Activity Supervisors.
