Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El Metini, President of Ain Shams University launched the Tree Planting Initiative under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed El Kobtan, Chairman of the Board of Directors. 700 fruit trees (olives, lemons and citrus fruits) were donated to be planted on the main campus of the university and the university city, and in the faculties of medicine, Al-Alsun, dentistry and various places on campus.
The initiative aims to encourage students to pay attention to green areas and preserve and beautify and planting the campus to preserve the environment and give a comfortable aesthetic appearance, and to educate students to preserve the fruitful trees. A number of university students participated in planting trees. The initiative will continue in the coming weeks.
