Dr. Ahmed Magdy from Ain Shams University wins the second place in the Governance and Artificial Intelligence research competition

As part of Ain Shams University's endeavor to achieve excellence in scientific research and support young researchers, and under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ahmed Magdy, a lecturer in the Department of Drama and Theater Criticism at the Faculty of Arts, won the second place in the research competition 'Governance and Artificial Intelligence' organized by the National Institute of Governance for the year 2024, for his research entitled "Governance of Artificial Intelligence between Reality and Cinematic Art."

The research was chosen from more than seventy research papers submitted by researchers across the country, reflecting the scientific excellence of Ain Shams University in various fields.

The university administration congratulates Dr. Ahmed Magdy on this distinguished achievement, which reflects the leading scientific position enjoyed by Ain Shams University.

This victory confirms the university's commitment to supporting young researchers, and highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance scientific research and innovation, and keep pace with modern developments in the fields of governance and artificial intelligence.

The Awards Office announced that the competition, launched by the National Institute of Governance - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - relied on the quality of the submitted research, its originality, and its practical applicability.

Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the Institute, handed over shields and certificates of appreciation to the winners at the Institute's headquarters.

It is worth noting that the research presented by Dr. Ahmed Magdy reviewed the issues of governance of artificial intelligence from the perspective of cinema and art, showing how artistic works can simplify complex scientific theories such as governance, and predict future scenarios that may occur if sufficient attention is not paid to machine governance. The research reflects the importance of combining arts and governance theories in addressing these important issues.
