In an effort to motivate all researchers to achieve more scientific achievements, the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University organized an awards ceremony for the Best Scientific Research and Thesis Competition, and the names of the winners of the competition were announced, which offered awards for the best scientific research, doctoral thesis, and master's thesis.
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty, the events were held under the supervision and coordination of Prof. Hatem Rabie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research.
Dr. Maram Mahrous Al-Wasimi received the Best PhD Thesis Award, while the thesis submitted by Dr. Israa Magdy was chosen as the Best Master's Thesis. Dr. Iman Taha Ismail's research received the Best Research Award.
This is the first edition of the competition, as the faculty intends to hold this event annually with the aim of encouraging a spirit of positive competition among faculty staff and promoting distinguished scientific research.
On the sidelines of the celebration, certificates were distributed to members of faculty staff, teaching assistants, and employees of the Graduate Studies Sector.
26 male and female researchers applied for the competition, and the winners of this competition received certificates of appreciation in addition to financial prizes provided by the Graduate Studies Sector, in addition to granting certificates of appreciation to the participating judges.
A group of training courses were also offered to faculty members, assistants and employees in the postgraduate studies sector with the aim of raising the professional level, improving skills and gaining experience. The courses amounted to 30 training courses with 37 hours that lasted for 3 weeks, including courses in English, Arabic, computer and human development courses.
Specialized courses were held for postgraduate studies employees on the mechanisms of dealing with the UMS program, and specialized courses for library employees in indexing and classification, marketing information services, modern mechanisms in organizing libraries and digital libraries, as well as courses in applying for practical awards for cultural relations employees, and courses in international publishing for employees of the Annals magazine.
Also, 10 courses were held for faculty staff and assistants for 20 hours, lasting for two weeks in various specializations, including a course in preparing the course file, digital identity, common mistakes in writing scientific research, international publishing, quality standards, applying for missions, in addition to holding courses in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.
