The Development and Education Building at Ain Shams University Hospitals witnessed a distinguished attendance for an important scientific lecture organized by the Chest Diseases Department at the Faculty of Medicine, which addressed the developments of pneumonia and bacterial resistance to modern drugs, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals.
The workshop was held under the chairmanship of the Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs and former Minister of Health, Prof. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, and Prof. Aya Abdel-Dayem, Head of the Chest Diseases Department, hosting Prof. Evangelos Gemirols, Professor of Chest Diseases at the University of Jena in Germany, to discuss the latest developments in pneumonia and its seriousness, in addition to progress in the field of treatment and antibiotics, and the extent of bacterial resistance to them after the pandemic period.
The workshop witnessed the attendance of a large number of faculty members in the department, including department deputies, assistant lecturers, and lecturers, in addition to department professors and assistant professors. The hospital's clinical pharmacy also participated in the workshop.
